As someone who is chasing a dream that is so uniquely you, you have afforded yourself the permission to create your life and your world, according to your highest purpose and the grandest vision that you hold for yourself.

Unfortunately too often, in the busy-ness of it all as entrepreneurs we can become so busy doing, that we rob ourselves of the very privilege we have earnt – to create every inch of our life from the ground up, according to how we want it.

Your planning for 2015 and beyond should be different to the vast majority of people, because for you it shouldn’t be about ‘business planning’ (first and foremost) it should be about who you want to be and how you want to live your life.

Your planning should be informed by nothing other than the highest vision you hold for yourself and your life. This kind of reflection, cannot come from a corporate planning workshop or a text-book, but rather needs to come from you and only you. It needs to come from heart.

Below are the questions I’ve developed and obsessed over this year to ensure I am personally living according to my highest purpose and moving toward my grandest vision.

I encourage you to set aside half a day or even a day if you can. Grab your journal or create a new Evernote file. Find a beach or a big tree and open yourself up to find your own answers to these questions that will guide you to a very purposeful and prosperous 2015.

1. Who do I want to be?

In a high demand world of to-do lists and an infinite number of channels through which people can reach out to ask something of you (email, call, text, Facebook, Skype, Twitter, msn, Google+… you get it) it’s very easy to live in reactive mode. Forever reacting to the stimulus and requests that other people have put in front of you.

In order to live according to our truest purpose, we must remember that all doing comes from being. Who you are and how you’re showing up every day is the foundation for everything you’re doing.

Are you showing up as a leader with a clear purpose or are you showing up fearful and looking for distractions to keep you busy?

There is nothing more liberating than sitting where you are right now, looking over the blank canvass of 2015 and asking yourself, “Who do I want to be this year?”

It’s only when you start from this space that you can truly start to paint your life according to your highest vision of yourself.

2. What is my truest intention?

Behind every behaviour and every action, there is an intention that is far more powerful than the action itself. I believe in a spiritual sense (although I’m not a religious person, I’m a highly spiritual person) that the universe responds to your intention and what’s in your heart, not the mere actions that are showing up on the surface.

Your intention for 2015 should be able to be summarised in one sentence. It might be that your intention is, “to be a more wholistic person capable of living a life of joy.” Or it might be “I want to develop into the business leader I know I can be and build a strong foundation for my business.” Or even, “I want to be a stronger leader, capable of living more decisively.”

If you got honest, really honest, what would be your guiding star for 2015, what’s your truest intention for what you want to become and achieve this year?

3. How am I choosing to do this?

Once you’ve decided who you want to be and which guiding star you’re going to be led by, it’s then about bringing this intention into reality by asking yourself, “which vehicle will I use to do this?”

For many entrepreneurs how we chose to live out our truest intention will often come from the business that we have or want to start.

As an example my personal intention for 2015 is “to deliver my lifes best work (so far) to enable people to live according to their truest self.”

How am I choosing to do this?

Through education. My brand of education helps people feel their own sense of purpose, enables them to hear their calling and gives them the courage to step into it.

To the rest of the world we look like a business education company. We are not in the business of business education, we are in the business of personal evolution, we help people evolve into the highest expression of them self and in doing so they achieve phenomenal business results along the way.

4. What is the path?

How is what you are doing going to build over 2015 and beyond?

If you were to do some research, look at worlds best practice in whatever it is you’re trying to accomplish, and finally sit with it and envisage how you are going to actualise your grandest vision not just in the next 12 months but for the next 5 years, what is the path that you see unfolding in your mind?

What are the four or five core steps to moving you from where you are now to a place of fulfillment and accomplishment in the future?

Align your personality with your purpose and your path, and you become invincible. Your first job is to find why you are here and then to get busy doing it.

5. What is the next best move?

Where do you need to start? Even if the details of the whole path aren’t clear, and often they won’t be, what can you do with what you have around you right now to start?

With your current knowledge, current resources, current bank balance, what is the best way to begin?

Do that. Do it today.

Dream out loud,
