Amanda Westphal is as impressive and fun as her company Prize Pig. Prize Pig brings a unique approach to gaining publicity,  acting as an online platform that partners small businesses and PR agencies with media competitions across Australia.  

Amanda has taken Prize Pig through incredible growth this past year, bursting with over 150 media opportunities with outlets like Channel 10, Lifestyle Channel, HitFM, GQ, and Girlfriend Magazines plus more.

Since launching in March 2015, Prize Pig has already given over $5 million in media value. With her sights set on big plans over the next 12 months for the company, Amanda is looking to double everything except her working hours, which she is looking to cut in half.

 There is no doubt that this is a very achievable goal for Amanda, having made sure she created an amazing automated platform that allows her to streamline while making it easier for her clients.

What have been your biggest challenges since starting Prize Pig?
Developing the sophisticated online platform was tougher than I expected. Overcoming negative self talk and managing my own expectations.

What have been some big wins you have had?
Winning Flying Solo’s Innovator of the Year (2015). Securing Channel 10 and another 150 media outlets all offering kick ass competitions. Also, finally setting up the CRM system!

What is the best piece of advice you have received since starting?
To design a business you don’t have to work in. This advice led me to create the most awesome automated platform that not only helps me but streamlines and makes it easier for clients. It also means I can have a really low price point.

What advice would you give to someone just starting a business or who wants to start? What do you wish you had been told at the beginning?
That there is no silver bullet. There’s no marketing activity or advertising that will work like magic. It’s consistent presence with multiple marketing tactics that gets you steady growth.

What impact has The Entourage and our community had on your business and your life?
I had the idea for the Pig, but it was the Entourage who gave me the support and confidence to create it. Without that push and unwavering ‘Yes! What are you waiting for!’ I would never have jumped right in.
