There’s nothing as frustrating as not quite getting to the bottom of something. Trying to squeeze the last little bit of toothpaste out of the tube, or pouring those last few drops of wine out of the bottle that are trying to cling on.

We might not talk about it often, but not being able to fully “let go” when getting down to bathroom business is just as frustrating. Squatting toilets and foot stools are not a new concept, but making them fashionable is. Enter The Proppr.

Dara Donnelly and Nemara Hennigan have come up with a smooth looking stool, for smooth stools. With Dara as Creative Director and massage therapist Nemara as Master of Motion, they’re qualified authorities on health and style.

“Being an entrepreneur is designed to be hard so that it filters out all the people who don’t care as much as you do”

Long-time foot stool users themselves, it was time to bring fashion and function together to create a sleek bathroom accessory that didn’t need to be hidden away. The Proppr makes feeling good, look good.

The Proppr smashed its $10,000 crowdfunding target within 11 days. Currently, their funding has grown to over $18,000 with 13 days still left in it. Their fun and quirky campaign video has got the attention of over 11,000 people.

They’re on a mission to make the world feel lighter, brighter and happier… and they’re starting from the bottom.

What’s your elevator pitch for your business?
We help people feel amazingly light and clear in their body on a daily basis by helping them to effectively eliminate waste. Our product is an elegant bathroom foot-rest that you prop your feet on to get you into the Proppr squat alignment, for a Proppr release when using the loo.

Where do you see yourself and your business in the next year? How about the next 5 years?
Within the next 12 months we’ll have 2 staff on board, a funky office space, 50 affiliates, and Propprs in 7,000 Australian bathrooms. Within 5 years we aim to be a global sensation, and be in a position to sell a portion of the business so we can begin a new entrepreneurial adventure.

If you were to start your entrepreneurial venture again from the start, what would you do differently?
We would have joined a business program and actively searched for business mentors much earlier. Doing this on your own is hard! It’s so amazing to have your own personal cheer squad – does wonders for the self esteem!

How do you conquer moments of doubt?

Before starting at The Entourage, what areas in business were you struggling with most? Which subject/workshop do you think helped you the most?
We were struggling with the business side of business. We are both self-taught, yet are both probably better at the “busyness” rather than business. The ‘Vision, Mission, Values’ workshop changed everything for us.

Prior to that we were planning to “sell a stool”, now we have a vision for a radiantly healthy world which is much more inspiring for us and our customers.

All the workshops have been divinely timed for us, perfectly in sync with what we and the business need at the time. Including the latest one, 8 steps to sales mastery.

What impact has The Entourage and our community had on your business and your life?
We joined The Entourage mainly because we didn’t want to struggle to set up this business. Nemara has had a successful business before, but she did it all in isolation and didn’t want to repeat that. We took the approach that we would just get help from the start.

We have been so incredibly supported by the Entourage team and the network, and we wouldn’t be where we are now without you!
