Operating Like A Start-up
Belinda Donaghey joined her family's seven decade old business American Doughnut Kitchen and with her corporate experience quickly learned that they were still operating like a start-up - everything was done manually in the business, they had no website and her family were “stuck in their ways”. As a third generation family member, Belinda was used to seeing her family do everything in the business with no systems and knew this wasn’t sustainable.
The business is so mature in terms of the years it’s been operating, but there were so many things we were still doing like a start-up.
After realising she needed some training and support to help her family systemise and scale the business, Belinda had a discovery call with Entourage and decided to join our Accelerate program - our exclusive program for business owners who want to scale beyond 6-figures of revenue.
Before joining The Entourage, things were a little chaotic…I felt like I needed some support and training.
Leaning Into The Community
Belinda leaned into workshops, coaching and growth partners at The Entourage and began working hard to systemise the business and its operations. She created an organisational chart to ensure every staff member had position descriptions and accountabilities, created a marketing engine and updated all the packing designs and branding.
Elevating To The Next Level
Once she had systems in place to scale the business, Belinda was offered the opportunity to join The Entourage’s Elevate program - our exclusive program for business owners who want to scale from 7 to 8-figures of annual revenue. She continued to lean into the coaching and community of like-minded business owners through mastermind circles and saw even greater results. American Doughnut Kitchen has now had a 30% increase in team growth, 4xed their bank balance and reduced staff turnover to almost nothing.
I’m so glad that I did take that leap because the extra support we get is second to none.
With The Entourage’s help, Belinda has now elevated out of the day-to-day operations of the business which has allowed her to think strategically about where American Doughnut Kitchen is heading. Her north stars for the business are national brand awareness, purchasing more vans, creating more seasonal products and selling to supermarkets to achieve even more scale.
Being a member at The Entourage I feel heard and supported and you can’t put a price tag on that.
